| Episode Title: "UNITY" Production Number: 859 Original Air Date: 02-12-97 Stardates: 50614.2 Synopsis: While in a shuttle scouting for a faster route through the Nekrit Expanse, Commander Chakotay and Ensign Kaplan crash on a planet populated by several individuals from various alien species who were previously Borg drones, but who were freed from the Collective when their ship was damaged. Ensign Kaplan is killed and Chakotay is injured by some of the aliens, but others use a neural link to heal Chakotay and join his mind to their cooperative.
