Synopsis: After the Voyager escapes the Borg Collective, most of Seven of Nine's cybernetic implants are removed and she must adapt to life as a human.

Kes's mental powers increase rapidly and she must leave the Voyager before she loses control. Before her atoms break down and she enters a subatomic realm of energy and thought, Kes uses her powers to throw the Voyager 9.5 thousand light years away, ten years closer to Earth and safely out of Borg space.
