Production Number: 094 Original Air Date: 04-22-05 Stardates: April 5, 2063; January 13, 2155 Synopsis: On April 5, 2063, a Vulcan ship lands on Earth in Bozeman, Montana, to make first contact, but a group of humans, led by Zefram Cochrane, attacks the Vulcans and boards their ship to loot its advanced technology. A century later, the Terran flagship I.S.S. Enterprise, commanded by Captain Forrest, has left Gorlan Station and has set a course to rendezvous with its assault fleet. First Officer Jonathan Archer has received information that the Tholians have acquired advanced technology, but Captain Forrest refuses to investigate because there is a rebellion in the Empire to put down. Commander Archer and Major Malcolm Reed lead a mutiny and take the Enterprise into Tholian space, where they capture and interrogate a Tholian starship pilot, The Tholian tells them that a captured Terran ship is in the Vintaak system in a facility orbiting a gas giant. Archer sends his data to Fleet Admiral Gardner, who orders Captain Forrest to investigate the ship with Archer. According to Commander Archer's informant, the Tholians detonated a tri-cobalt warhead in the gravity well of a dead star, creating an interphasic rift to another universe. A distress signal lured a ship from the other side, which quantum dating determined to be from about 100 years into the future. As the Enterprise approaches the Tholian facility holding the Terran ship from the future, sensors detect 13 alien bio-signs, including one reptilian, aboard the ship. While Commander Archer leads an assault team to board the ship, the I.S.S. Enterprise is attacked and destroyed by a fleet of Tholian ships.
