| Episode Title: "TIMELESS" Production Number: 901 Original Air Date: 11-18-98 Stardates: 52143.6 Synopsis: Four years, two months, and 11 days after the Voyager entered the Delta Quadrant, the crew invents an experimental quantum slipstream drive to get back to Earth using a quantum matrix, benamite crystals, and Borg technology. In order to compensate for a quantum phase variance, Commander Chakotay and Ensign Kim pilot the Delta Flyer through the slipstream ahead of the Voyager, but the Voyager is knocked out of the slipstream and crashes on an icy Class-L planet in the Takara sector just outside the Alpha Quadrant, killing the entire crew of 150 people. Fifteen years later, Chakotay and Kim steal the Delta Flyer and return to the planet to change the past, but Captain Geordi La Forge of the Galaxy-class U.S.S. Challenger tries to stop them. Kim uses Seven of Nine's cranial implants to send a message to her in the past; with the new data, she deactivates the quantum slipstream before the Voyager crashes, but the experiment still gets the Voyager nearly 10 years closer to Earth.
